Select base metals weaken further on global cues

Select base metals weakened further at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained stockist selling, amid bearish trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME) advices.

While, tin and copper utensils continue to rise on increased demand from consumer industries.

Nickel dropped further by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,205 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,215 and copper scrap heavy fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 441 as against Rs 446 in the previous session.

Copper armature and copper sheet cutting both declined by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 434 and Rs 428 from Rs 438 and Rs 432 yesterday.

Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 300 and Rs 310, respectively.

However, copper utensils scrap rose by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 415 from Tuesday closing level of Rs 407 and Rs tin firmed up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,415 as against Rs 1,410 yesterday.
