Select centres freight up on busy cargo movements

Freight charges for the ten metric tonne load section showed a rising tendency in the local truck transport market today following less availability of trucks amid increased arrivals of cargo.

Transporters said tight position of trucks and better cargo movements pushed up some of centres freight rates. Delhi to Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai freights rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 43,500, Rs 24,000 and Rs 20,000.

Rates to Patna, Pondicherry and Pune also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 47,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively.

Following are today's rates for load of 10 per tonnes:
