Select copra firms up on steady demand

Copra edible and copra Kozhikode prices rose further at the spices market here today on rising domestic as well as stockists demand coupled with robust export offtake.

Meanwhile, copra Rajapur dropped owing to reduced buying by retailers amid higher supply.

Copra edible Mumbai surged by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 7,650 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 7,550 and copra office Kozhikode gained by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 6,300 as against Rs 6,250 previously.

However, copra Rajapur Mumbai fell by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 8,000 from overnight closing level of Rs 8,100.

Rest of the spices closed stable in the absence of worthwhile buying activity.

Black pepper (per kg) 235/249 (235/249), ginger bleached (per kg) 230 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 245 (245), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,450 (6,450)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,300 (6,250), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 8,000 (8,100) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,650 (7,550)
