Copra Alapuzha, copra Kozhikode and copra edible prices surged at the spices market here today on persistent buying by stockists coupled with rising domestic demand.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts and ongoing festive demand are the other key factors behind the spurt in copra prices, traders said.

Copra office Alapuzha hardened by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 4,800 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 4,600.

Copra office Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai also rose by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 4,600 and Rs 5,600, as against Rs 4,500 and Rs 5,500 yesterday.
