Select copra rises on better demand

Copra Kozhikode and copra Rajapur prices rose at the spices market here today on renewed stockists as well as retail demand amid good offtake from millers.

Copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur Mumbai went up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 6,700 and Rs 9,400, respectively, from its overnight closing level of Rs 6,600 and 9,300. 

Meanwhile, other spices closed unaltered in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 300/321 (300/321), ginger bleached (per kg) 165 (165), ginger unbleached (per kg) 180 (180), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,800 (6,800)

 

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,700 (6,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,400 (9,300) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,850 (7,850)
