Select copra spurts on rising demand

Copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode prices rose further in an otherwise steady spices market here today owing to consistent demand from stockists and traders as well as steady offtake from millers. 

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode shot up by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 6,700 and Rs 6,600 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 6,500 and Rs 6,400. 

However, there was no trading in copra Rajapur Mumbai and copra edible Mumbai in view of local holiday.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:  

Black pepper (per kg) 245/265 (245/265), ginger bleached (per kg) 163 (163), ginger unbleached (per kg) 193 (193), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,700 (6,500)

 

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,600 (6,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) Closed (8,000) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) Closed (7,500)
