Select copra spurts on steady demand

Copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode prices continued to surge at the spices market here today due to consistent buying by stockists and retailers amidst firm export demand.

Meanwhile, rest of the spices closed steady in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra office Alapuzha rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,700 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 6,600 and copra office Kozhikode gained by Rs 75 per quintal to Rs 6,500 as compared to Rs 6,425 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 235/249 (235/249), ginger bleached (per kg) 201 (201), ginger unbleached (per kg) 231 (231), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,700 (6,600)

 

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,500 (6,425), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 8,500 (8,500) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,900 (7,900)
