Select edible oils down on sluggish demand

Select edible oil prices fell for the second straight day by losing up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today, due to slackness in demand at prevailing high levels.

Traders said sluggish demand against adequate stocks mainly led to a decline in select wholesale edible oil prices.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) fell by Rs 60 and Rs 50 to Rs 6,440 and Rs 6,050 per quintal, respectively.

Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) followed suit and traded lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5,650 per quintal.

On the other hand, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) rose by Rs 100 to Rs 7,500 per quintal,while groundnut solvent refined gained Rs 20 to Rs 1,370-1,380 per tin.

 

In the non-edible section, neem oil also weakened by Rs 50 to Rs 4,050-4,150 per quintal.

Oilseeds: mustard seed 2,525-2,655 and groundnut seed 2,100-2,850
Vanaspati ghee (15 litres tin) 1,065-1,140

Edible oils (in Rs): Groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) 7,500, groundnut Solvent refined (per tin) 1,370-1,380, Mustard Expeller (Dadri) 6,000, Mustard Pakki ghani (per tin) 780-935, Mustard kachi ghani (per tin) 935-1,035

Sunflower 6,300, Sesame mill delivery 6,390, soybean Refined mill delivery (Indore) 6,440, Soyabean degum (Kandla) 6,050, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 5,650

Cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) 5,850, Palmolein (RBD) 6,200 Palmolein (Kandla) 5,950, Rice bran (phy) 3,750 and Coconut (per tin) 1,500-1,560

Non-edible oils: Linseed 4,650, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 8,750-8,850, Neem 4,050-4,150, Rice bran 3,300-3,400 and palm fatty 3,225-3,300

Oilcakes: groundnut dehusk 800-850, sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (new) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175
