Select edible oil prices drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on slack demand at prevailing levels amid weak global trend.
Neem oil in the non-edible section, also eased on reduced industrial offtake. Meanwhile, palm oil futures for November delivery fell 0.5 per cent to $843 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
In the edible section, mustard expeller (Dadri) and cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oils traded Rs 50 each lower at Rs 5,300 and Rs 4,650 per quintal.
Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Delhi) oils fell by Rs 100 and Rs 20 to Rs 4,800 and Rs 4,680 per quintal, respectively.
Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) and palmolein (rbd) oils too traded in negative zone with a loss of Rs 20 each to Rs 4,150 and Rs 4,870 per quintal.
Among the non-edible oil section, neem oil declined by Rs 50 to Rs 3,800-3,900 per quintal on lack of enquiries from soap's industries.
