Select grains decline on reduced offtake

Select grains including wheat declined by up to Rs 30 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on slackened demand against adequate stocks position.

Traders said sluggish demand against sufficient stocks led to the fall in select wholesale grain prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) remained weak and shed another Rs 5 to Rs 1,170-1,175 per quintal.

Bajra and maize prices fell by Rs 30 each to Rs 960-970 and Rs 1,300-1,310, respectively. Jowar yellow and white too traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,000-1,070 and Rs 1,825-1,870 per quintal, respectively.
