Select pulses decline on sluggish demand

Select pulses prices fell by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on sluggish demand from retailers at prevailing high levels.

In the national capital, urad fell by Rs 50 and its dal chilka local shed Rs 100 to Rs 3,850-4,250 and Rs 4,700-5,100 per quintal, respectively.

Its dal best quality shed Rs 100 and dhoya moved down by Rs 200 to Rs 5,300-5,800 and Rs 5,150-5,250 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small and bold also declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,750-2,950 and Rs 2,900-3,150, respectively, and its dal local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 3,250-3,350 and Rs 3,550-3,850 per quintal, respectively.  

 

Kabli gram small variety too traded lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5,300-6,800 per quintal. Market analysts said sluggish demand at prevailing higher levels mainly led to the fall in select wholesale pulse prices.
