Select pulses remain down on subdued demand

Select pulses continued to decline for the third straight day and lost up to Rs 200 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on increased arrivals against subdued demand.

Traders said increased arrivals from producing belts against sluggish demand from retailers, mainly pulled down select wholesale pulse prices.

Urad remained under selling pressure and shed another Rs 50 to Rs 3,750-4,300, while its dal chilka local declined by Rs 100 to Rs 4,600-5,000 and best quality and dhoya lost Rs 200 each to Rs 5,100-5,400 and Rs 5,300-5,400 per quintal.

Moong and its dal chilka local followed suit and traded lower by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,800-4,200 and Rs 4,650-5,050 per quintal.

 

In line with weakening trend, gram, gram dal local and best quality were down by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,350-2,375, Rs 2,625-2,650 and Rs 2,700-2,800 per quintal, respectively.
