Select spices dip on sluggish demand

Black pepper prices declined at the spices market here today due to subdued demand from domestic as well as export markets amid higher arrivals.

Elsewhere, copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode also drifted further on poor retail offtake. Black pepper fell by Rs 8 per kilo to Rs 295/323 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 303/323.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode lost Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 6,850 and Rs 6,700, respectively, as compared to Rs 6,900 and Rs 6,750 yesterday.

Meanwhile, rest of all other spices closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.
