Copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode prices continue to slid at the spices market here today due to sliding demand coupled with higher stocks availability.

Elsewhere, black pepper also moved down slightly on reduced retail buying support.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode both dropped by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 5,400 and Rs 5,200 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 5,500 and Rs 5,300, respectively.

Black pepper eased by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 278/305 as against Rs 280/305 yesterday. Meanwhile, rest all other spices closed stable owing to lack of worthwhile buying.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 278/305 (280/305), ginger bleached (per kg) 150 (150), ginger unbleached (per kg) 180 (180), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 5,400 (5,500)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 5,200 (5,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,000 (9,000) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,300 (7,300)
