Ginger bleached and unbleached prices declined at the spices market here today due to reduced buying from stockists and retailers as well as lower export offtake.

Copra office Kozhikode also moved down owing to poor domestic demand.

Ginger bleached dipped by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 220 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 230 and ginger unbleached eased by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 240 as against Rs 245 previously.

Copra office Kozhikode slipped by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 6,250 from Rs 6,300 last Saturday. Meanwhile, other spices closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 235/249 (235/249), ginger bleached (per kg) 220 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 240 (245), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,450 (6,450)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,250 (6,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 7,800 (7,800) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,550 (7,550)
