Select spices gain on better demand

Copra Rajapur prices rose at the spices market here today due to increased domestic as well as overseas demand amidst restricted arrivals. 

Black pepper also firmed up on fresh retail offtake.   

Copra Rajapur Mumbai spurted by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 8,300 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 8,200 and black pepper moved up by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 300/325 as compared to Rs 295/325 yesterday.   

Meanwhile, ginger bleached, unbleached and copra edible Mumbai maintained a steady trend in the absence of market-moving factors.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:
