Select spices rise on better demand

Copra Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai prices rose at the spices market here today on increased buying from stockists and retailers coupled with good offtake from millers.

Elsewhere, black pepper also firmed up on strong demand from domestic as well as export market.  

Copra office Kozhikode spurted by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,300 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 6,200 and copra edible Mumbai gained by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 7,350 as against Rs 7,300 previously.

Black pepper also moved up by Rs 2/4 per kg to Rs 245/265 as compared to Rs 243/261 last weekend.

 

Meanwhile, rest all other spices held stable in the absence of necessary buying support.

Black pepper (per kg) 245/265 (243/261), ginger bleached (per kg) 163 (163), ginger unbleached (per kg) 193 (193), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,350 (6,350)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,300 (6,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 7,800 (7,800) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,350 (7,300)
