The Sensex continues to drift deeper into red owing to unabated selling in index frontliners. The index is now down 512 points at 12,014.
Tata Power has slumped 10.5% to Rs 796. Jaiprakash Associates and Sterlite have plunged 10% each to Rs 104 and Rs 357, respectively.
Tata Steel and DLF have tumbled 8.7% each to Rs 359 and Rs 307, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications have shed around 6.5% each at Rs 692 and Rs 312, respectively.
BHEL has dropped over 6% to Rs 1,470. TCS and Infosys have slipped around 5% each to Rs 623 and Rs 1,322, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Satyam and ACC have declined around 4.5% each to Rs 1,104, Rs 300 and Rs 598, respectively.

Grasim has declined over 4% to Rs 1,685. ICICI Bank and Wipro are down 3.7% each at Rs 486 and Rs 329, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,241 stocks traded so far, 1,908 have declined, 297 have advanced and 36 are unchanged.
