Selling continues... Sensex near day's low

The Sensex slipped to a low of 14,205, down 425 points from the day's high.

The index is now down at 14,271, down 251 points.

The BSE Realty index has tumbled 8% to 3,110. The Metal index has slumped 5.5% to 10,646 and the Power index has shed 4.5% to 2,759.

Jaiprakash Associates and ACC have slipped around 8.5%  each to Rs 187 and Rs 758, respectively.

Tata Steel and Hindalco have dropped 7% each to Rs 388 and Rs 87, respectively.

DLF, Reliance Infrastructures have shed 5.5% each to Rs 314 and Rs 1,196, respectively.

Reliance Communications, NTPC, Grasim, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC, Tata Power, BHEL, Ranbaxy, Reliance and ICICI Bank are down 2-4.5% each.

 

Infosys is up 2% at Rs 1,748.

Sun Pharma, Tata Motors and SBI have added over 1% each.

The market breadth continues to be extremely negative, out of 2,545 shares traded, 2,051 have declined and 442 have advanced so far on the BSE
