All-round selling has dragged the Sensex to a low of 11,089. The index is now down 224 points at 11,132. The selling is attirbuted to huge selling by the foreing institutional investors (FIIs), wherein they were net sellers to the tune of Rs 2,091 crore in futures & options yesterday. Dr.Reddy's has added 2% at Rs 1,455. TCS and Reliance are the only other gainers among the Sensex stocks. Cipla and BHEL have slumped 6% each to Rs 645 and Rs 2,220. Grasim has shed 4.7% to Rs 2,073, and Gujarat Ambuja is down over 4% to Rs 104. Larsen & Toubro and NTPC have declined 4% each at Rs 2,456 and Rs 131, respectively. ACC, Bajaj Auto, ITC, SBI, ICICI Bank and Satyam are also under heavy selling pressure. Out of 2,326 stocks traded so far, 1,777 have declined, 509 have advanced and the rest are unchanged. |
