<b>Sensex @ 17K:</b> up 49pts; Wipro, Satyam firm

The Sensex is now up 49 points at 16,949.

Wipro and Satyam have zoomed 4.5% each to Rs 455 and Rs 430, respectively.

ICICI Bank and HDFC has soared 3.5% each to Rs 1,026 and Rs 2,480, respectively.

TCS and SBI have rallied 3.3% each to Rs 1,035 and Rs 1,863, respectively. Infosys has advanced 3% to Rs 1,824.

Tata Steel and Cipla are up 1% each at Rs 752 and Rs 171, respectively.

Reliance Energy has plunged 4% to Rs 1,044. Reliance has shed 2.6% to Rs 2,336.

Maruti has slipped over 2% to Rs 969. HDFC Bank and NTPC are down 1% each at Rs 1,380 and Rs 193, respectively.

Out of 2,802 stocks traded so far, 1,561 have advanced, 1,174 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
