The NSE Nifty is up 88 points at 5,088.
Bharti Airtel has zoomed 7.8% to Rs 910, and Reliance Communications has soared 7.5% to Rs 572.
HDFC has rallied over 4% to Rs 2,695. SBI has advanced 3.4% to Rs 1,739, and ICICI Bank has moved up over 3% to Rs 904.
Tata Steel, Wipro and HDFC Bank have gained around 2% each at Rs 795, Rs 459 and Rs 1,473, respectively.
Reliance Energy and ONGC have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 1,327 and Rs 1,047, respectively. BHEL has added 1.3% to Rs 1,873.
Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has shed 2.6% at Rs 240. DLF and Cipla have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 663 and Rs 222, respectively.
ACC has dropped over 1.5% to Rs 786. Infosys and Maruti are down over 1% each to Rs 1,671 and Rs 738, respectively.
Out of 2,689 stocks traded so far, 1,549 have declined, 1,080 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
