Sensex adds 76pts; Cement stocks lead upmove

The Sensex has rallied to a new all-time intra-day high of 10,448, and is now up 76 points at 10,446.

Cement stocks are leading the upmove. ACC has surged 4.7% to Rs 657, and Grasim has added 4.5% to Rs 1,821. Gujarat Ambuja is up 2.6% at Rs 90.45.

BHEL has rallied 4% to Rs 2,106, and Larsen & Toubro has advanced 2.3% to Rs 2,453.

Maruti and Hero Honda have zoomed over 2% each to Rs 842 and Rs 905, respectively. Tata Motors is up nearly 1% at Rs 821.

Tata Power has surged 2.2% to Rs 522.

HLL has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 246. Satyam has spurted 1.3% to Rs 780, and HDFC has added 1.2% to Rs 1,373.

Cipla, Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy are up 1% each at Rs 559, Rs 1,315 and Rs 433, respectively.

ONGC down 1.5% at Rs 1,120. ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank are the only other notable losers among the Sensex stocks.

The market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,145 stocks traded so far, 1,159 have advanced, 920 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
