Sensex At 52-Week Low

Even though the BSE sensex touched a 52-week low in intra-day trades today, the market capitalisation of stocks traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange has increased by Rs 88,249 crore in the past one year, from Rs 4,18,172 crore on October 11, 2001 to Rs 5,06,522 crore on October 24, 2002.

But the market cap of sensex stocks declined by Rs 2,659 crore, from Rs 2,37,438 crore to Rs 2,34,778 crore over the past year. On October 10, 2001, the sensex hit a low of 2,896.60.

The BSE sensex hit a 52-week low of 2,906.20 in intra-day trades today but settled 40.91 points lower at 2,908.05 at the end of the day.

 

With this, the Sensex has lost over 100 points in the last four trading sessions. Today
