Sensex at a new high, up 67pts; HDFC jumps 3%

The Sensex scaled to touch a new all-time intra-day high of 9469. The index is now up 67 points at 9457.

While Reliance is marginally up at Rs 903, ONGC is marginally down at Rs 1,186.

Infosys has posted modest gains at Rs 2,992. TCS at Rs 1,703, Satyam at Rs 735 and Wipro at Rs 465 are up 0.7% each.

ITC has gained 1% at Rs 142. HLL, however, is unchanged at Rs 195.

HDFC has rallied 3% to Rs 1,229. Grasim and Dr.Reddy's have spurted over 2% each to Rs 1,408 and Rs 984, respectively.

Maruti at Rs 657, Hero Honda at Rs 859, BHEL at Rs 1,410, Tata Motors at Rs 647, ACC at Rs 537, Gujarat Ambuja at Rs 80.30, ITC at Rs 142, Hindalco at Rs 148 and Wipro at Rs 466 are up 1-2% each.

Advances are ahead of declines - out of 2,452 stocks traded 2,044 have moved up, 358 have lost while the rest are unchanged.
