Sensex at day's high; M&M gains

The Sensex is at the day's high at 11,326, up 191 points.

The index today opened up 15 points at 11,149. Thereafter it slipped into the red and touched a low of 11,070.

The Sensex rebounded soon and has risen steadily to the day's high.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel have surged 6% each to Rs 470 and Rs 752, respectively. Jaiprakash Associates has gained 5% at Rs 125.

Reliance Communications and SBI have advanced 4% each to Rs 234 and Rs 1,312, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, DLF, Grasim, ICICI Bank, Tata Power, ACC, TCS, Larsen & Toubro and Sterlite have gained 1-3% each.

Meanwhile, Wipro and Tata Motors have shed 2% each at Rs 306 and Rs 241, respectively.

Maruti Suzuki, Ranbaxy, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever and ITC have also declined.

 The market breadth is postitive. Out of 2,460 stocks traded, 1,524 have advanced and 867 have declined.
