Sensex at day's high, up 40pts

The Sensex touched a high of 11,622, and is now up 40 points at 11,612.

Larsen & Toubro has surged 2.5% to Rs 2,409. Hindalco has gained 2% at Rs 176.

Ranbaxy and SBI have moved up over 1.5% each to Rs 396 and Rs 917, respectively.

HLL, Grasim, Gujarat Ambuja, Reliance Communications and Reliance Energy have advacned 1% each to Rs 240, Rs 2,227, Rs 115, Rs 302 and Rs 450, respectively.

Cipla and HDFC are down over 1% each to Rs 243 and Rs 1,264, respectively.

Out of 2,516 stocks traded so far, 1,417 have advanced, 1,021 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
