Sensex at new high, crosses 13,330

The Sensex has crossed 13,300, and touched a new high at 13,303. The index is now up 164 points to 13,301.

ICICI Bank has surged 4.5% to Rs 836. BHEL and HDFC Bank have rallied 2.8% each to Rs 2,451 and Rs 1,045, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, Dr.Reddy's, Reliance Energy and Reliance have moved up over 2% each to Rs 134, Rs 791, Rs 524 and Rs 1,287, respectively.

ACC and Hero Honda have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 1,015 and Rs 725, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, NTPC, Tata Motors and Reliance Communications are the other major gainers.

Satyam has slipped over 1% to Rs 423.

Out of 2,554 stocks traded so far, 1,359 have advanced, 1,102 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
