Sensex back in red, down 53pts; HLL drops 9%

The Sensex has slipped back into the negative zone and is now down 53 at 14,159.

Reliance Energy has surged 2.5% to Rs 519. ITC has gained 2% at Rs 176.

Gujarat Ambuja and Satyam have rallied around 1.5% each to Rs 137 and Rs 471, respectively. Ranbaxy has spurted over 1% to Rs 407.

Tata Steel has plunged 8.6% (Rs 45) to Rs 475. HLL has shed 2% to Rs 210.

Hindalco has dropped 1.5% to Rs 178, and Wipro has slipped over 1% to Rs 623.

Out of 2,608 stocks traded so far, 1,438 have declined, 1,115 have advanced and 55 are unchanged.
