Ranbaxy, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Communications have tumbled 5% each to Rs 371, Rs 694 and Rs 532, respectively.
Bharti Airtel, HDFC and Tata Steel have shed around 4.5% each to Rs 862, Rs 1,924 and Rs 625, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors, SBI, HDFC Bank and Reliance have dropped over 4% each to Rs 2,496, Rs 670, Rs 1,556, Rs 1,150 and Rs 1,816, respectively.
ICICI Bank, BHEL, Grasim, TCS and Wipro are the other major losers.
Out of 2,637 stocks traded so far, 2,092 have declined, 498 have advanced and 47 are unchanged.
