Sensex bounces back, up 118pts

The Sensex has bounced back from lower levels and is now up 118 points at 9,589.

Tata Power and ACC have surged nearly 4% each to Rs 718 and Rs 569, respectively.

Reliance and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 1,503 and Rs 81, respectively.

Sterlite has gained over 3% at Rs 336. HDFC Bank has advanced 2.6% to Rs 965.

DLF, ITC and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 2.3% each to Rs 170, Rs 179 and Rs 622, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL and Tata Steel are up around 2% each.

Infosys, Hindalco and HDFC are up around 1.5% each.

 

ONGC and NTPC have plunged around 2.5% each to Rs 178 and Rs 761, respectively.

Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 159 and Rs 594, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Hindustan Unilever and Sun Pharma are down over 1% each to Rs 162, Rs 237 and Rs 1,058, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally negative - out of 2,443 stocks traded so far, 1,273 have declined, 1,064 have advanced and 106 are unchanged.
