Sensex bounces back, up 244pts; DLF down 7%

The Sensex has very briefly slipped into red, but soon bounced back and is now up 244 points 8,695.

TCS has soared 6.7% to Rs 501. HDFC and Reliance Infrastructure have surged over 6% each to Rs 1,370 and Rs 451, respectively.

Sterlite has rallied 5.7% to Rs 212, and BHEL has gained 5.5% at Rs 1,259.

NTPC and SBI have moved up 4.5% each to Rs 144 and Rs 1,141, respectively.

ONGC, Wipro and Tata Motors have advanced around 4% each to Rs 676, Rs 228 and Rs 131, respectively.

Infosys has added 3.6% to Rs 1,168. Bharti Airtel, Maruti, Reliance Communications and Reliance are up around 3% each at Rs 612, Rs 498, Rs 188 and Rs 1,090, respectively.

 

DLF has slumped 7% to Rs 191, and Jaiprakash Associates has plunged 6.5% to Rs 56.

Tata Power has tumbled 3.6% to Rs 611. ACC has shed 2.5% at Rs 398, and Tata Steel is down 1% at Rs 156.
 
Out of 2,497 stocks traded, 1,493 have declined, 917 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
