Sensex close to day's low, down 273pts

The Sensex is now down 273 points at 9537. The index had touched a low of 9508 earlier.

Tata Steel, Grasim, HDFC and RCoVL have dropped nearly 5% each to Rs 434, Rs 1,690, Rs 1,150 and Rs 210, respectively.

ICICI Bank has declined 4% to Rs 480. BHEL, HLL and ACC have shed 3.5% each to Rs 1,804, Rs 200 and Rs 727, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has gained 2.5% at Rs 1,246.

Out of 2,392 stocks traded so far, 1,456 have declined, 876 have advanced and 60 are unchanged.
