The domestic bourses registered decent gains on Monday taking a cue from the global equity markets, which advanced in anticipation of a rate cut by the US Federal Reserve.

The Indian markets have been thus up for the seventh consecutive day, their longest winning streak in nine months.

The 30-share Sensex advanced 0.68 per cent or 103.45 points to close at 15,422.05 points. The broader Nifty gained 0.24 per cent or 10.75 points to close at 4,474.75 points.

The top Sensex gainers were NTPC, up 6.95 per cent at Rs.185.35, followed by Dr Reddy's Laboratories, up 3.87 per cent at Rs 665.60 and Cipla, up 2.75 per cent at Rs171.95.

Experts believe that Sensex would add another 300 points if it crosses the 15,500 mark.
