Sensex crosses 11,000 in early deals

The Sensex opened marginally higher at 10,946. The index soon crossed another landmark level of 11,000 in early trades. The index is now up 45 points at 10,987.

Tata Power has surged 1.7% to Rs 578.

ONGC and HLL have gained over 1% each at Rs 1,231 and Rs 255, respectively.
