Sensex crosses 14k; up 513pts

Sensex has surged to a new high of 14,122, up 533 points. The index is now up 513 points at 14,102.

SensexThe Sensex touched a new low of 13,780.41 and then zoomed to a high of 14,009, up 420 points from the previous close. The index is now 366 points higher at 13,955.

The BSE Realty and the Bankex are leading the rallly so far.

Reliance Infrastructures has soared 11% to Rs 1,247. DLF has zoomed 8% to Rs 364.

Sterlite has advanced over 7% at Rs 580. ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have gained 5.5% each at Rs 706 and Rs 1,413, respectively.

 

ONGC, Tata Motors and SBI have added 5% each at Rs 1,064, Rs 342 and Rs 1,772, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Jaiprakash Associates, HDFC, Larsen & Toubro, Hindalco, Grasim, Tata Steel and TCS are up 3-5% each.

ITC on the other hand is down 1% at Rs 182.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,740 shares traded, 2,190 have advanced , 503 have declined and 47 are unchanged on the BSE so far.
