The Sensex has lost ground in late noon trades following selling pressure in tech, banking and other select old economy stocks. It is now down 13 points at 6,576. The Nifty, too, has slipped from steady upward levels to 2,054 - down four points. Infosys is still subdued with a per cent loss (Rs 20) at Rs 2,142. While Satyam has shed 2.45% (Rs 10) to Rs 395, Wipro is down a per cent (Rs 6) at Rs 677. HPCL has lost 1.51% (Rs 5) to Rs 343. SBI is trading lower by Rs 3 at Rs 678. HDFC Bank is down half a per cent (Rs 3) to Rs 558, while ICICI Bank is down Rs 2 at Rs 373. ITC and HLL are trading a rupee lower each at Rs 1,283 and Rs 144, respectively. Reliance, in a subdued market, has jumped nearly 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 550. Bajaj has slipped a per cent (Rs 8) to Rs 1,041. Other auto pivotals are exhibiting a sluggish trend. ONGC is trading with a per cent gain (Rs 5) at Rs 815. L&T has scaled up 2% (Rs 22) to Rs 1,089, while Hindalco has gained 1.25% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,375. |
