Sensex dips 14 points in choppy trading

 The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex, which swung in a wide range of 96 points, shed 14.52 points to close at 4,741.20. With this, the Sensex has lost close to 190 points in the last three trading sessions. The intra-day volatility ranged between 96 points and 153 points over the last three days.

 Technology stocks dragged the market down today, but the prices of select heavyweights like Tata Steel, Tata Motors and ICICI Bank ruled firm.

 In tune with the sentiment, 135 stocks in the specified group, including 17 index-based shares, registered sharp to moderate losses, while 58 others ended with gains.

 U P Bhat, a fund manager at Canbank Mutual Fund, said,
