Sensex displays early volatility

The Sensex opened 13 points higher at 10,257. The index touched a high of 10,269, but soon dropped to a low of 10,212 - down 57 points from high. The index has pulled back and is down just three points at 10,241.

SBI has advanced 1% to Rs 861. Gujarat Ambuja, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel and Tata Motors are the other notable gainers.

Dr.Reddy's has slipped 1.6% to Rs 1,341.

ITC, ONGC, Wipro and HDFC Bank have dropped over 1% each to Rs 164, Rs 1,183, Rs 516 and Rs 714, respectively.
