The Sensex slipped to a low of 9755, and is now down 68 points at 9776. Tata Motors is up nearly 4% at Rs 732. Tata Power has gained 2.5% at Rs 486. Grasim up 1.8% at Rs 1,527, Bharti up 1.7% at Rs 370 and NTPC up 1.4% at Rs 117 are the other significant gainers among the Sensex stocks. Maruti has moved up 1% to Rs 736. HDFC has declined 3.2% to Rs 1,318. ONGC has dropped 2.3% to Rs 1,158. Infosys and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 1.6% each to Rs 2,790 and Rs 2,190, respectively. ICICI Bank has declined 1.5% to Rs 570, and HDFC Bank is down 1.2% at Rs 726. While ITC has shed 1.4% to Rs 154, HLL is down 1.3% at Rs 191. TCS is down nearly 1% at Rs 1,620. Out of 2,402 stocks traded so far, 1,283 have declined, 1,051 have advanced and 68 are unchanged. Gujarat Alkalies tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 79.91 crore followed by Tata Motors (Rs 63.19 crore), Reliance (Rs 44.61 crore), SBI (Rs 44.22 crore) and Larsen & Toubro (Rs 37.08 crore). Gujarat Alkalies leads the volume chart with trades of around 52.64 lakh shares followed by Nitin Spinners (34.21 lakh), Ashok Leyland (33.41 lakh), Rana Sugars (26.08 lakh) and Prism Cements (23.36 lakh). |
