Sensex down 100pts; Bharti, Rel Comm up 2%

The Sensex is now down 100 points at 13,991.

SBI has plunged over 6% to Rs 1,101. HDFC Bank has shed 4.5% to Rs 1,023, and ICICI Bank has dropped 3% to Rs 925.

Maruti has slipped 4.6% to Rs 850, and HDFC has declined 4.2% to Rs 1,650.

Tata Motors and Grasim are down around 3% each at Rs 841 and Rs 2,668, respectively. Bajaj Auto is down 1.7% at Rs 2,995.

Hindalco has surged over 4% to Rs 148. Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have advanced 2% each to Rs 450 and Rs 754, respectively.

Reliance Energy, Tata Steel and Wipro are up over 1% each to Rs 546, Rs 437 and Rs 645, respectively.

Out of 2,503 stocks traded so far, 1,654 have declined, 802 have advanced and 47 are unchanged.
