Sensex down 100pts; HDFC up 3%

The Sensex is now down 100 points at 20,191.

Infosys has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,669. Wipro has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 492, and Satyam have shed 2.8% at Rs 429.

ICICI Bank has dropped 2% to Rs 1,290, and HDFC Bank has slipped 1.6% to Rs 1,746.

BHEL has shed 1.4% at Rs 2,634. ITC and Reliance Energy are down over 1% each at Rs 185 and Rs 1,924, respectively.

HDFC has soared 3.3% to Rs 3,045. Tata Steel and Reliance Communications have surged 2.5% each to Rs 856 and Rs 758, respectively.

Out of 2,880 stocks traded so far, 1,944 have advanced, 891 have declined and 45 are unchanged.
