Sensex down 100pts; Infosys drops 2%

The Sensex is now down 100 points at 12,440.

Reliance Communications has shed 3.5% to Rs 377. Larsen & Toubro has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,456.

Gujarat Ambuja has slipped 2% to Rs 104, and Infosys has dropped 1.8% to 2,040.

HDFC Bank has declined 1.5% to Rs 904. Hero Honda, Reliance Energy, HLL and BHEL are down over 1% each to Rs 660, Rs 457, Rs 175 and Rs 1,988, respectively.

Tata Motors has advanced over 2% to Rs 742. Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy have gained 1% each at Rs 683 and Rs 314, respectively.

Out of 2,383 stocks traded so far, 1,615 have declined, 698 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.
