Sensex down 100pts; Jaiprakash Associates adds 2%

The Sensex today opened flat at 14,978, up 21 points owing to subdued cues from the global markets.

The index has slipped to a low of 14,856 and is now at 14,835,  down 123 points.

Jaiprakash Associates has advanced 2% to Rs 223. Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Power have gained over 1.5% each at Rs 1,290 and Rs 1,200, respectively.

DLF and Bharti Airtel are up 1% each at Rs 357 and Rs 814, respectively.

Infosys has dropped 2% to Rs 1,687.

Larsen & Toubro and ONGC have declined over 1.7% each to Rs 1,498 and Rs 1,104, respectively.

Wipro, SBI, BHEL and TCS are down 1% each.
