The Sensex is now down 105 points at 8,734.
Mahindra & Mahindra has slumped over 8% to Rs 250. Maruti and TCS have tumbled 5.3% each to Rs 460 and Rs 534, respectively.
HDFC has shed 4.5% at Rs 1,375. Sterlite and Larsen & Toubro have plunged over 4% each to Rs 229 and Rs 675, respectively.
Reliance has slipped nearly 4% to Rs 1,066. Tata Steel has dropped 3.3% to Rs 148.
Tata Motors has declined 3% to Rs 129. ONGC is down 2.5% at Rs 665.
Reliance Infrastructure has moved up 3.5% to Rs 484. Bharti Airtel has surged nearly 3% to Rs 670.
ITC has gained 2.4% at Rs 170. NTPC has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 159.
Out of 2,071 stocks traded so far, 1,362 have declined, 639 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.
