Sensex down 105pts; breadth fairly -ve

The Sensex is now down 105 points to 16,740.

Mahindra & Mahindra has plunged over 3% to Rs 759. Bajaj Auto has shed 2.5% to Rs 2,510.

Larsen & Toubro and SBI have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 2,841 and Rs 1,799, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped 1.7% to Rs 588, and NTPC has declined 1.5% to Rs 193.

BHEL, Reliance Energy and ICICI Bank are down 1.3% each to Rs 1,984, Rs 1,079 and Rs 983, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 960 and Rs 165, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Cipla, Satyam and Ranbaxy are up around 1% each at Rs 1,362, Rs 169, Rs 413 and Rs 421, respectively.

Out of 2,775 stocks traded so far, 1,808 have declined, 909 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
