Sensex down 105pts; Wipro up 2%

The Sensex is now at 10,794, down 105 points from the previous close.

The index today opened up 71 points at 10,969, and touched a high of 11,036. Thereafter the index slipped into the red around noon and touched a low of 10,715.

Maruti Suzuki has plunged over 4% to Rs 756. Ranbaxy has shed 4% at Rs 175.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma and Jaiprakash Associates have declined 3% each to Rs 425, Rs 1,185 and Rs 112.

DLF, Tata Power, ONGC, BHEL, Sterlite, Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 2-3% each.

On the other hand, ACC has rallied nearly 4% to Rs 637. Wipro has gained 2% at Rs 280.

The market breadth is fairly negative. Out of 2,488 stocks traded, 1,403 have declined and 980 have advanced. The rest remain unchanged.
