Sensex down 106pts; BHEL sheds 4%

The Sensex is now down 106 points at 12,943.

BHEL has plunged over 4% to Rs 2,085. Tata Motors, ACC, Satyam and Cipla have dropped over 2% each to Rs 752, Rs 814, Rs 437 and Rs 232, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 665. Wipro and Ranbaxy have shed 1.5% each to Rs 568 and Rs 324, respectively.

Infosys, HLL, Hindalco, Reliance, Reliance Communications and Grasim are the other prominent gainers.

NTPC has surged 2.5% to Rs 140, and Tata Steel has moved up 2% to Rs 436.

Out of 2,237 stocks traded so far, 1,158 have advanced, 1,015 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
