Sensex down 106pts; Tata Steel down 4%

The Sensex is now down 106 points at 14,257.

Tata Steel has plunged 3.5% to Rs 636. Reliance Communications has shed 2.5% to Rs 497.

HDFC Bank has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 1,091. Ranbaxy and HDFC have shed 1.7% each to Rs 383 and Rs 1,772, respectively.

Hero Honda, Grasim andACC have declined 1.5% each to Rs 683, Rs 2,467 and Rs 874, respectively.

NTPC has soared 2% to Rs 159. Satyam, HLL and Tata Motors have spurted over 1% eacg to Rs 458, Rs 201 and Rs 715, respectively.

Out of 2,507 stocks traded so far, 1,376 have declined, 1,048 have advanced and 83 are unchanged.
