The Sensex is now down 109 points at 15,103.
HDFC Bank has plunged 3.5% to Rs 1,221, and ICICI Bank has dropped 3% to Rs 717.
DLF has shed 2.5% at Rs 553. Reliance Infrastructure and Hindalco have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 1,075 and Rs 140, respectively.
Tata Power, HDFC, Reliance Communications and Maruti are down over 1% each at Rs 1,024, Rs 2,435, Rs 443 and Rs 670, respectively.
Sterlite has gained 2% at Rs 610. Infosys has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,627, and Satyam has added 1% to Rs 407.
Out of 2,671 stocks traded so far, 1,363 have declined, 1,219 have adanced and 69 are unchanged.
